Family on Beach

Just like us Aussies, Hamilton Island is one but it is many. Just one of the 74 tropical islands that make up the Whitsundays, Hamilton Island offers a great range of accommodation options and a wide variety of leisure and recreation activities. In fact, there are more than 40 things to see and do on a daily basis, so whether you're after a romantic date or fun for the whole family, Hamilton Island has plenty to choose from.

Regardless of which hotel or resort you choose to stay at, there are heaps of Hamilton Island activities available to you. Some may be free for everyone or included for free with your stay, while others may attract a small fee. However one thing is for certain, you'll never be left with nothing to do on Hamilton Island, unless of course you want to sit back and do nothing. Although it could be difficult to resist the diverse range of daily activities.

If adventure's your name then Hamilton Island is your game, offering excitement in the form of wake boarding, tube rides, quad biking, go karting, parasailing and scenic joy flights. Those keen to get in the water can choose from snorkelling, scuba diving, game fishing, windsurfing, jet skis, water skiing, sea kayaking or all of the above. For those who prefer to stay above the water, there are a number of cruises to Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef as well as twilight sailing, dinner cruises and catamaran and yacht sailing.

If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you'll enjoy Hamilton Island activities like bushwalking, safari tours and the koala gallery. There is also some great mini golf to be had and an impressive 18 hole golf course set against the striking backdrop of the Whitsundays. For those who like to keep up their fitness whilst on holidays, you'll also enjoy the gymnasium, yoga, aerobics and flood-lit tennis courts.
